08-19-10| Ha. It's been nearly a year since my last post. Life is busy. I was waiting for that to change and it never did. So now I just choose what is important and what isn't. Music is- I'm just not too sure about all these stupid social networks...
08-22-09| Time for an update: With the summer practically over and work lingering on the horizon, my audience is about to change from all of you wonderful fans to my corky and fun middle schoolers. Shows are currently on hold until I get a better idea of what the fall looks like and on what I want to do next. I think either way, I'm going to take some time off to focus on life as well as spend more time brewing with the music. I've have a lot of ideas and skills I want to improve on but haven't yet. Look for shows late this winter. Also, I began production on a summer recap video but ran into some issues that put my camera in the shop. I should be able to finish once that is back in my hands. That's it- stay informed.
07-15-09| Summer Greetings! Have you heard of Owl City? If not, you should. They have been my daily theme song lately. What’s new for me? Great question: show this Friday; the website continues to morph, look for picture and video links soon; future collaboration with other musicians; new stickers; more social networks; new equipment; and possible studio time?!? Those are just some facts and tentative plans. Who knows- I could slip in a coma tonight; I heard they are hereditary…
06-19-09| Big thanks again to everyone who came out to the shows last weekend; the Pavilion went especially well. In other news, I have been working on some more site facelifts and other odds and ends to make things run smoother. I have a favor to ask of you guys and gals- if you want to support me as a fan or just enjoy my music, you really should sign up on a few things. First, the best way to stay updated (besides checking this website) is to sign up on the mailing list under the "contact" tab. I just switched over to reverbnation which is a really well-run and safe site. The only email you would be receiving is updates or reminders from yours truly. Second, join one of my social networks (also located under the "contact" tab) like myspace or my facebook fan page. Finally, if you really want to go above and beyond you can join my street team either when you sign up for the fan mail or you can click here. Again, it's safe and plus many of you promote my shows anyways- why not get free goodies from being on the street team in the process?
That's about it for now. I have more surprises on the way like new stickers and some new videos, so stay tuned!
05-23-09| Summer is upon us! I just took about all day updating the website, myspace, facebook, and reverbnation so take a look around. There are new pics up, a better mailing-list, and new shows. Enjoy it in all its glory. That's about it for now. Lats!
04-28-09| Hey everyone. So I lost my calendar and I went to the store to buy a new one. I didn't realize the calendar starts in July! It's April! What am I going to do for the next couple months? Looks like I'll be guessing. Anyways, the next show is May 9th; it's a crazy, family fun carnival. Come buy an elephant ear, ride the zipper, and check out the music. More news on the way...
04-10-09|Good Friday- A time to reflect. A time to slow down. A time to be thankful. We are very busy people and life seems to be getting faster by the minute. I usually don't say a whole lot on these sorts of issues, but times are tough right now. It is easy to despair; don't. Instead, hope. It's a funny concept but when your faith is in the right place, it starts to come naturally. Be joyful; you are loved.
Next week is the Earth Day show- if you haven't purchased tickets yet, you should. There are a ton of awesome artists that will be performing most of the day. There is a variety of things coming down the pipeline so stay tuned! (For example, I just launched a facebook- sick, I know!)
04-02-09| Show this weekend. Be there.
3-14-09| Happy PI day! I hope all of you have done something mathematical today. Incase you haven't, here are some ideas: 1) Do your taxes 2) Add up your grocery shopping list 3) Count down the days to the next Jeff Large show! Despite the cheesy lead in, it's true. Scheduling has begun for the summer. Many other things are in the works and I'm waiting to hear back from some other venues so stay informed. Lastly, I'm looking to start jamming with other musicians- if anyone is interested, please contact me via email- info@jefflarge.com.
1-25-09| Again, it's been too long- no updates, no emails, no shows. However, I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. With spring and summer coming down the pipeline, I sense the scheduling of shows is nearing. For now, I guess my online tunes will have to do. If you want new music, there is still always American Idol...
11-15-08| Holy catfish Batman! Reporting to you live, 3months later. First of all, for anyone who actually is checking this site, sorry. I have been so incredibly busy with my real job, my music has taken the back burner. Currently I have no shows schedules and I'm primarily focusing on my job, my son, and worship ministries. BUT, if any get scheduled, I promise you'll be the first to know. I hope life is well everyone. Stay out of trouble. Later-
08-17-08| Good news people- I'm on itunes, amazon, ruckus, cd baby, and more! Check it out under the media section. Even though I'm not a big fan of the whole "i" revolution, many of you live by it. Thus, I excerised my undying love for you and made my music available on all the major mp3 sites. You're welcome. Otherwise, shows are slow with the new school year approaching but I do have one at the end of the month. Ta ta for now.
08-08-08|You have to do everything 8 times today! Aaaahhhh! Thanks for showing support and coming out to the show on Tuesday. It was a great turn out and we had a fun time. (“You can do it!”) Anyways, I have a show near the end of the month and some other good news on the way. Later for now.
07-24-08| Summer is half over! I have a fantastic idea to make sure your summer is complete- you should really go to my show at John Collins Park (Reed's Lake in East Grand Rapids) and have a picnic. What better way to fully enjoy summer than a picnic with me? Even if you don't want to go for the music, there will be a clown handing out animal ballons. That's a good enough reason for me...
07-07-08| As mentioned last time, I do have one surprise up- you can now purchase "Simple Thoughts for a Short Journey" on CDBaby.com. More things are yet to come. For now, the next show is on Friday, July 18th at Lemonjellos with Drake and Annagail. See you there!
06-27-08| Hello Friends. I hope all of your summers are going well; mine is. I've stepped back a bit from the music scene to enjoy time with my family and relax but it looks like some news is on the forefront. I have one surprise in the works and some new shows brewing. Check back in a week to get the scoop.
06-12-08| Summer is upon us! And speaking of summer (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) I have two Rockford Start-o-Summer Fest shows. That's right- come on down, eat an elephant ear, throw a baseball at a pile of immovable bottles, and listen to some cool tunes. Hope to see you there!
05-24-08|Hello everyone. The show at Epic was fun hanging out with new people; thanks. This upcoming weekend is going to be a good one with a show at Barnes & Noble in the Rivertown Crossings Mall followed by a show at Four Friends Coffeehouse in Grand Rapids with special guest Pat Swanson. For those who don’t know, Pat is the pianist on my album and he is a fantastic musician. You don’t want to miss this one. See you then…
05-19-08| Things have been busy around here. I have a show Friday at Epic Coffee House. I also have some sweet shows coming up at the end of the month. Later.
05-04-08| Hi. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show on Friday; it was fun times as usual. I’ll be playing down at Dillenbecks Coffee House soon. Otherwise, that’s about it for now.
04-27-08|Hola. I have some rather exciting news to share; I just interviewed with Shelly Irwin from WGVU 88.5FM and it will be played on their station (this) Friday the 2nd at about 10:05am. Even Isaiah received some air time so it should be cool.
Also, I just watched Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed last night. Ben Stein, who is the movie's host, raises some extremely interesting points regarding flaws in Darwinism, evidence in the scientific argument of intelligent design, and the current persecution on our right of free speech. I strongly recommend anyone who cares about truth, freedom, science, faith, or the well-being of society to at least look at this movie. For more info check www.getexpelled.com.
04-22-08| Hi everyone. I'm currently talking to a friend about sticking it to the man and changing the world; does anyone have any ideas? I find it unfortunate that the majority of our society has no clue or care of the exploitation and pure nonsense that goes on right in front of us. I by no means know everything but I still think we need to do what we can to make things better. It boils down to what really matters in life. I'm pretty sure it's not a jaded distribution of wealth, advertisements at the movie theater, and McDonalds, but whatever.
On a lighter note, I have a mid-day show this weekend at a new venue. Come check it out. –Later
04-10-08|Alright. To avoid any confusion, this Friday's show is at Aquinas College and it starts at 6pm. Saturday's show is at Four Friends and starts at 8pm. Plus, Matt Talbott has been added to the set. You can check him out here. So ya. That's about it for now...
04-01-08| Welcome to the new site. Feel free to sit back, relax, and stay awhile. You may find some nice reading under the bio section or perhaps some quality listening music under the media section. Whichever you decide, I hope you enjoy your stay at jefflarge.com.
