After being a central figure in WooCommerce, Adii went on to found Receiptful four years ago, which eventually became Conversio. At Conversio, they do email marketing and create marketing tools for small to medium ecommerce businesses, including drip campaigns, abandoned cart retrieval, product recommendations, and more.
As the team leader and founder, Adii sees his role as being the facilitator to help his team of specialists flourish. What really sets Conversio apart, however, is their strong family first ethos.
“It’s not that we don’t believe in capitalism, it’s not that we don’t believe in building a sustainable, profitable business. All of those things are important, but we want to change the angle or the lens and say… the reason why we are doing these things is to actually live a meaningful life outside of work and outside of the business.”
Their new sister company KindGoods is a direct result of this ethos. It encourages fellow business owners and customers to create an ecosystem that models Conversio by putting family first and making kind choices to reach success.
Connect Your Values With Work
Adii makes the point that many people are very unhappy at work.
If your employees are happy, don’t underestimate the value you are adding to their lives.
“The most guaranteed way for everyone is to think, why the hell do you want to do this… This thing that you’re working on or planning on working on, it has to link in some way to your values and you have to be clear about that.”
Figure out what your values are. Learn the difference between your stated values and your habitual behaviors and actions. Then, bridge that gap.
