So you’re interested in starting a podcast for your business. The following checklist will help you decide if a company podcast aligns with your business’ goals.
You want to increase brand recognition or authority in an industry.
Podcasts can be used as a means of association. Do you want to be known as an ABC expert? Create a podcast on the topic of ABC or interview existing ABC experts. Do it well and you’ll known as an ABC expert too.
You want to reach new prospects.
Podcast listenership has grown at a rate of 10% to 20% every year. It is only getting more accessible with increases in travel-based listening and in-home listening thanks to devices like Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
You want to increase sales, opt-ins, or engagement.
Two-thirds of listeners act on calls-to-action in podcasts and people prefer ads in podcasts over any other digital medium. Want a listener to do something? Just ask.
You want to learn more about a topic or a target audience.
One of our clients told me their podcast taught them more about their customers than any hard data could have. We’ve used what we’ve learned to create new, proven content and courses.
You want to increase social proof/ customer loyalty and reduce churn.
We’ve produced podcasts that helped and celebrated existing customers. Social proof directly from the product users and improved customer experiences were the result.
You want people to actually care about your marketing and brand.
Traditional outbound marketing can be intrusive and unwelcomed. Research shows 75% of some inbound techniques like blogging gets no results. The average podcast fan listens to 5 shows a week and 85% of fans listen to the entire show.
You have a story to tell or something to teach.
We have a natural inclination to want to hear good stories and good stories “brought to you by your company” can generate a lot of interest. Also, they help you scale if you have something to teach. Want the CEO to share his/her values with the employees, shareholders, or customers? Consider doing it with a podcast.
Starting a company podcast could be for you if any of the above align with your business’ goals. Podcasting has made a big difference for our company and our clients.

Podcasting is our specialty. We can help you determine if a podcast would help your company and what we can offer to help.
You or your team can learn how to produce your own podcast. You can easily find information on what to buy and how to use it. Also, many editing-only companies exist. Focusing on only the basics will fall short.
Strategy is what really matters and that’s where we’ll begin. Even the best audio editing is worthless if the podcast doesn’t align with your goals. For us, quality audio editing is an assumed part of the process.
Whatever you decide, we’d love to help.
You can expect more emails in the coming weeks of resources and updates designed to help you improve your podcast game and grow your business. You should have already received the welcome email.
